The United Way of Greater New Haven has confirmed that it is possible to make tax-deductible donations to the Chatham Square Neighborhood Association, either as one-time gifts or via ongoing paycheck deductions. NHPD Dirt Bike / ATV Hotline Now Open: (203) 946-6463

The NHPD has now set up a hotline for citizens to provide information about dirt bike / ATV usage on city streets.  When you call to leave a message, please provide as much information as you can: the date, time, location, the number and description of the riders and their vehicles.

Please share this info with neighbors in need: EMERGENCY MEALS AVAILABLE FOR FAMILIES WITH ELECTRICITY OR WITH STORM-RELATED DAMAGES

Today New Haven City Hall will have emergency meals available to families in need of assistance due to Storm Sandy-related damages and power outages. Seven distribution sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 4p.m. The maximum number of meals available per household is four, unless additional need is demonstrated. The distribution sites were selected based on the proximity to homes without power. The seven sites are as follows:

Dirt bike using Quinnipiac Park as his personal track!

Sunday, 4:08 pm was my first photo, 4:35 my last - kid on a white and red dirt bike, black sweatshirt with white letters, black helmet with white striping of some sort -- up and down, up and down Quinnipiac Park from Grand to Ferry -- and it looked like there was an adult with him encouraging him on!  Check out my posted photos.  I called and  reported  this to the police, as did my upstairs neighbor.  For pete's sake, kids were in the park, people were walking their dogs, and this kid ran…

Public Montessori School in New Haven NOW!

The "New Haven Parents" (an informal group working to increase parent input into education in New Haven), in particular Eliza Halsey, have coordinated efforts with the Hartford Public Schools Montessori magnet schools, the local New Haven Montessori schools and another dedicated parent group working to bring a Montessori to the Bridgeport Public Schools, to make a public Montessori a reality for New Haven in the Fall of 2013.
