Police Survey

The New Haven Police Department recently released a Community Survey to its

website, (http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/police/). In an effort to bolster

survey participation, I am writing to request that you take a few moments to

fill out the survey, and forward it along to other members of your block

watch groups, as well as to anyone else you know who may be benefitted by

it. Below is a brief…

Lynn Smith honored as a New Haven Rising Star

Start Community Bank was delighted to been recognized by Business New Haven for the work we are doing in our community.  Now, it's a mystery to me that as everything on my body is sagging and drooping I am named a Rising Star -- but the spirit is ALWAYS rising even if body parts are not.

In any event, we are delighted to receive so many pieces of good news this month - first this award, and then an award from the Chamber of Commerce for our nonprofit partnership with Solar…

Moving and sad to say Goodbye...Ken and Lori Janke

Well, its official – - – we are moving.  We are leaving the northeast and making a new home in Texas.  And while I am tempted to say that we are moving back to Texas, that phrase really doesn’t express what we’re doing. Yes, we’re returning to the city from which we moved 7 years ago.  BUT, we are moving as completely different people than when we last moved.  It…

Election Tomorrow! Your polling place may have changed.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware that tomorrow's primary election polling locations will be based on the new ward boundaries.  So please make sure that you are going to the right place.  I've included a map below of the new boundaries.

Polls are open from 6am-8pm.  If you are a democrat you are voting for either Chris Murphy or Susan Bysiewicz and if you are republican you are voting for either Chris Shays or Linda McMahon.

If you have any…

Dover Beach Splash Pad Update

Hi everyone,

I just spoke with Dave Moser, landscape architect for the city, to get an update on the timeline for the Dover Beach Park splash pad and bidding process.  Please keep in mind that there is a possibility that the timeline could be delayed for any number of reasons, but Dave was optimistic that they would be able to keep close to the schedule.

July 15: Advertise for bids.  (completed)

10am, July 24: Mandatory "pre-bid" meeting at the site.  Any contractor who…

Justin's contact information

It was great to meet everyone at last night's meeting.  Thanks for being so welcoming.

As I mentioned last night, as a result of the redistricting process I will "officially" be representing part of Fair Haven in January.  "Officially" aside, I am happy to help out anyone (in the ward or not) at anytime (starting now).

I wanted to offer up my contact information again, just in case you didn't get a chance to write it down or for those folks that weren't able to attend last…

We began a discussion about how to deal with the speeding cars
