Fair Haven is a Diverse Community with a Rich History and a Beautiful Waterfront
Hello All!
My name is Kimberly Gill and I am looking to move down to New Haven (ideally Fair Haven neighborhood) this September. I am searching for a 1 or 2 bedroom first floor apartment - with backyard access. I have a one year old rescue puppy (golden retreiver/australian shepherd mix) who is friendly and well-trained. My budget is up to $1000/month. We are both very clean, respectful, and I am a non-smoker.
About me, I'm 31 years old, grew up in Hartford and…

A recent drone with camera sighting over a Downing Street home by its residents triggered neighbors to question the legality of drone use in urban environments, especially when they hover over our backyards. The issue was presented to State Representative Juan Candelaria, D.-95, who provided an extremely informative reply and analysis. Rep. Candelaria graciously agreed to share the following with CSNA: …

I believe last year we went here for Dining Out Night. I remember a hot and sweet concoctions which I thoroughly enjoyed!
"Cositas Ricas (271 Grand Ave, New Haven; 203-782-4757), the final stop on our smoothie safari, is located along the main artery of Fair Haven, on flavorful Grand Avenue. This convenience-store-turned-fruit-hut is home to Mangonadas and Chamoyadas ($5, $8), two summer delicacies born from a counterintuitive mixture of mango and hot spices.…

Household hazardous waste comes from everyday products used in the home, garage, yard or garden. By definition, they are corrosive, flammable, toxic or reactive. These products can be disposed of for free at HazWaste Central. HazWaste Central helps protect the water resources in greater New Haven while providing cost-effective municipal services. Because the chemicals are safely collected, the land and important waterways are not polluted. A visit to HazWaste Central is…

I second another neighbor who was also served the paperwork about a Public Hearing concerning 213 Front street to be granted special permit for more than 500 SF of outdoor storage for boats, but also RVs, and storage containers!
See attached copy of the letter we received at 208 Front.
Hope to see you there.

Neighbors,
River Front Development, LLC has applied to use their property for the storage of boats, RVs, containers, etc. This property in the past has been cited for unsightly collections of decaying boats, vehicles and other eyesores. Of most importance is the fact that the property is suffering from significant erosion which is approaching crisis levels to adjoining property. This erosion, if not addressed, may be made worse from all the activity, extra weight and other actions to…

Hi all,
I just wanted to let everyone know that the City Budget Hearing will take place on Thursday, May 5th at 630 pm at the Aldermanic Chamber at City Hall. There are a number of items on the agenda, including the funding of library positions for the New Haven Free Public library. The library is asking that the community come out in support and speak on the library's behalf in order to let the Board of Alders know what the library means to you and why it is important to fund…
